July Events

We hope that you are enjoying your summer whether you are spending it here in the Valencia area, or if are lucky enough to be able to travel back to the U.S. or to other destinations.
For those of you who are still in Valencia we have a couple last minute events before the month of July ends.

American Products in Valencia

This is a list of American products or American style products that we have found in Valencia:

Carrefour:
Pancake Mix
Brownie Mix

Chocolate, Strawberry and Caramel Syrup
Plain Bagels
Canned Baked Beans 
Cheddar Cheese
Old El Paso products (refried beans, seasoning packets, tortillas, salsa, etc...)
Ranch Dressing
Quaker Oats
French Fried Onions
Vanilla Flavoring (artificial) - in the ethnic foods section
Raspberries almost all year round for 2 €

The Corte Ingles Gourmet Shop at the Calle Colon:
Karo light corn syrup 5,70 €
Hershey's syrup 7,35 €
Hershey's cocoa (unsweetened) 7,35 €

Corte Ingles Supermarket:
Peter Pan peanut butter
Baxters brand Cream Soups

In Mercadona they sell some interesting items such as tomato paste, chocolate, strawberry and caramel syrup, molasses, chocolate chips, unsweetened cocoa powder (Valor), hummus, guacamole.  They have their own line of Mexican food products (tortillas, salsa, seasoning packets...).  Their queso fresco batido makes a decent substitute for sour cream.  Requeson is a good substitute for ricotta cheese.

Indian Supermarket Taj Mahal Manuel Candela N18 Has a wide selection of spices, dried legumes and sauces that can be hard to find in Valencia.  They sell Skippy peanut butter, artificial vanilla flavoring, french fried onions and other interesting products.  It is worth checking out!
